The Nokomis Redskins are taking a road trip to  challenge the Arcola Purple Riders  at 7:00  p.m.  on Friday.
Nokomis will head out to face Arcola after giving up their first home loss of the  season on Friday. The Redskins were just a  hair shy of victory  and fell  15-14 to Cumberland.
 Despite the  defeat, Nokomis had strong showings from  Nolan Herpstreith, who rushed for 77 yards and a pair of  TDs, and  Kadynn Petty, who rushed for 73 yards on only eight carries.
 Meanwhile,  winning is always nice, but doing so behind a  season-high score is even better (just ask Arcola). They took down Tri-County [Kansas/Shiloh/Oakland] 20-6  on Saturday.
 Arcola's first  win this season bumped their record up to 1-6. As for Nokomis, they suffered their first home  loss, dropping their record down to 5-3.
 Nokomis strolled past Arcola when the teams last played  back in August of 2024 by a score of  27-10. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Redskins since the  team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
