The Hersey Huskies will take on the Barrington Fillies/Broncos at 4:45 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Hersey barely beat Rolling Meadows the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Huskies never let the Mustangs get on the board and left with a 6-0 victory on Wednesday. The win was nothing new for the Huskies as they're now sitting on three straight.

The result came thanks to Keegan Luxem's shutout, as he gave up just a hit and racked up eight Ks. He has been consistent: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in seven consecutive appearances.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Mike Sokan, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April. Charlie Arvanitis was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two RBI and one run.
Hersey hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Rolling Meadows struck out eight times.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Barrington). They blew past Hoffman Estates 17-5 on Wednesday. The victory was familiar territory for the Fillies/Broncos, who have now won three games in a row.
Tommy Abbatemarco and Jack Swarbrick did most of the damage at the plate: Abbatemarco went 2-for-3 with four RBI, one stolen base, and one run, while Swarbrick went 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one double. Brandon Fryer also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.
Hersey's record now sits at 17-3-1. As for Barrington, their record is now 14-5-1.
Both the two teams just can't seem to miss. Hersey has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9.7 hits per game. However, it's not like Barrington struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 5 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Everything went Hersey's way against Barrington when the teams last played back in April of 2024, as Hersey made off with a 9-2 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Huskies since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
