After a string of three wins, the Harding County Ranchers's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They were dealt a 80-34 defeat at the hands of Bowman County co-op [Bowman/Rhame]. Harding County has not had much luck with Bowman County co-op [Bowman/Rhame] recently, as the team's come up short the last six times they've met.
Harding County's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Nayati Bickerdyke, who scored 14 points. Those 14 points set a new season-high mark for him. The team also got some help courtesy of Payton Dvorak, who scored nine points along with five rebounds and four steals.
Harding County's defeat ended a nine-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 3-1. As for Bowman County co-op [Bowman/Rhame], the win (which was their 16th in a row dating back to last season) raised their record to 2-0.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Harding County will wrap up 2023 with a road trip to face off against Edgemont at 4:30 p.m. on December 30th. Edgemont comes in still looking for their first win of the season. Bowman County co-op [Bowman/Rhame] will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Belle Fourche at 1:00 p.m. on January 20, 2024.
