The Forestview Jaguars won against the North Gaston Wildcats two weeks ago with 60 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Wednesday. Forestview strolled past North Gaston with points to spare, taking the game 60-46. That's two games straight that Forestview has won by exactly 14 points.
Forestview's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Alex Helton, who scored 20 points along with three blocks. That's the first time this season that Helton posted two or more blocks. The team also got some help courtesy of Nico Aguliar, who scored 16 points.
North Gaston lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Markell Carothers, who scored 18 points. Jalen Howard was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with seven rebounds and two blocks.
The victory makes it two in a row for Forestview and bumps their season record up to 6-7. As for North Gaston, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-10.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Forestview will take on Ashbrook at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Ashbrook presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Forestview in North Carolina (Ashbrook is ranked 36th, while Forestview is ranked 294th). As for North Gaston, they will be playing at home against Kings Mountain at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Kings Mountain focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 11 on Wednesday.
