Basketball Recap: Stebbins Sets Scoring Season-High Against Fairborn

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Stebbins). They strolled past the Fairborn Skyhawks with points to spare on Saturday, taking the game 74-55. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Indians.

Stebbins' win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Aubrey Fritz, who posted 21 points in addition to seven assists and six boards. Fritz is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last eight games she's played. Another player making a difference was Miley Amann, who went 7 of 14 en route to 18 points and five rebounds.

Fritz wasn't the only one working in the assists department: Stebbins was working as a unit and finished the game with 15 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Fairborn only posted eight assists.

Despite the loss, Fairborn saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Brooklynn Kimball dropped a double-double on 25 points and 13 boards. Those 13 rebounds set a new season-high mark for Kimball. The team also got some help courtesy of Jayla Smalls, who went 5 of 6 on her way to 13 points.

Stebbins is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 9-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 50.1 points per game. As for Fairborn, they dropped their record down to 7-4 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road.

Stebbins will head out to challenge Urbana at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Urbana is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 53.1 points per game this season. As for Fairborn, they will look to defend their home court on Monday against Middletown Christian at 6:00 p.m.
