In what's become a running theme this season, the Cactus Cobras gave their fans yet another huge victory on Wednesday. They took their matchup on the road with ease, bagging a 64-37 win over Peoria. The win was nothing new for Cactus as they're now sitting on eight straight.
Cactus was led to victory by Tyler Hutton and Bradey Henige. Hutton scored 24 points along with six assists and six rebounds, while Henige dropped a double-double on 28 points and 22 rebounds. That makes it five consecutive games in which Henige has scored at least a third of Cactus' points. Another player making a difference was Matt Henige, who scored six points along with seven assists and three steals.
Despite the loss, Peoria still got an impressive performance from Desmone Brooks-conley, who scored 13 points along with three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of De'Amare Petty, who scored six points.
Cactus is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten games, which provided a nice bump to their 12-2 record this season. As for Peoria, their loss was their sixth straight at home, which bumped their record down to 3-15.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Cactus won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Estrella Foothills at 7:00 p.m. on January 11th. Estrella Foothills will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Arizona Rankings (they are ranked 271st, while Cactus is ranked 32nd). As for Peoria, they will be playing at home against Goldwater at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Goldwater is coming into the contest on a four-game losing streak.
