Even though the Sebastian River Sharks scored an imposing 55 points on Wednesday, the Satellite Scorpions still came out on top. Satellite took their match against Sebastian River 66-55. The win made it back-to-back wins for Satellite.
Satellite's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Michael Otero led the charge by scoring 24 points. That makes it two consecutive games in which Otero has scored at least 25% of Satellite's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Zander Tantius, who scored 13 points along with 5 rebounds.
Despite the loss, Sebastian River had strong showings from Andrew Simpson, who scored 22 points along with 3 steals, and Keenan Matthews, who scored 18 points. Dakari Greene was another key contributor, scoring 4 points along with 3 steals.
Satellite's victory bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Sebastian River, their loss dropped their record down to 0-1.
Satellite will head out on the road to face off against Astronaut at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Sebastian River won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Morningside Academy at 7:00 p.m. on November 30th. Morningside Academy knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past three contests -- so hopefully Sebastian River likes a good challenge.
