AA Region 3 recap November 5, 2013
Westside was the team that made the biggest jump in the rankings, moving from fourth to second in AA Region 3. The Patriots beat East Laurens 34-6 earlier in the week.
Laney extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Dublin, 26-0. The victory was the fifth in a row for the team.
Screven County's Rashad Hughley and Desmond White led the league in both passing and receiving yards. Hughley has thrown for 713 yards this season, while White has 17 catches for 228 yards. Harlem's AUSTIN BURT leads the league in rushing yards with 982.
BURT of the the Bulldogs is just 18 yards short of surpassing 1,000 rushing yards for the season. BURT has rushed for 982 yards on 181 carries so far this year.
An important game coming up in AA Region 3 this week will be when Harlem takes on Eric Parker's team. Jimmie Lewis' team is currently in third, while the Wildcats are in first.
The Gamecocks took down Josey 51-0 last week, the largest margin of any game. Hughley threw for 96 yards and 1 touchdown and ran for 84 yards during the win.
