The Walled Lake Western Warriors had to endure a 14-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They managed a 53-48 victory over Kettering on Tuesday. For Walled Lake Western, this counts as revenge for the 55-53 defeat Kettering walked away with the last time they faced one another back in December of 2023.
Kettering's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jordan Jarrell, who scored 19 points along with two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Jarrell has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Diego Rocha, who scored nine points along with seven rebounds and seven steals.
Kettering struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only an offensive rebound. They are 1-4 when they can't control their own glass like that.
Walled Lake Western's victory ended a six-game drought at home and bumped them up to 3-14. As for Kettering, their defeat was their 16th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 4-13.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Walled Lake Western will take on Walled Lake Central at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Walled Lake Central will roll in looking for their 17th straight win, something Walled Lake Western surely won't give up without a fight. As for Kettering, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Mott at 7:00 p.m. Hopefully Kettering focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 14 on Tuesday.
