The Grace Community Cougars have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four games by 21 points or more this season. They put the hurt on White Oak with a sharp 47-26 win on Tuesday. The victory was some much needed relief for Grace Community as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.
White Oak's loss came despite strong showings from Elyse Paiz and Bella Baker. Paiz scored eight points along with eight steals and five rebounds, while Baker scored 12 points along with eight rebounds. The game was Baker's fourth in a row with at least ten points.
Grace Community's victory bumped their record up to 6-7. As for White Oak, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-9.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Grace Community will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Legacy Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on January 5, 2024. As for White Oak, they will head out on the road to face off against Big Sandy at 6:15 p.m. on Monday.
