The biggest upset of the week belonged to Terry, who took down 204th ranked Terry, 37-26. Hasan Rizvi threw for 102 yards and one touchdown and ran for 33 yards in the win.
Joshawa West of Angleton ran for the longest rushing play in 4A Region III District 23 this season against Bay City last week. West scampered for 87 yards on the play and finished with 100 on the day as his team beat the Black Cats.
Angleton's dynamic duo of T.J. Austin and West proved tough for Bay City to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Austin threw for 189 yards and two touchdowns and West had 157 yards receiving. Jalyn Judkins helped Angleton's passing attack out by catching one ball for 18 yards.
Evan Temple made the biggest impact on defense this week as Foster topped the Rangers. The 6-foot-3 senior racked up two sacks.
Keshon Leonard was the most productive running back in the league this week. He ran for 208 yards on 21 carries as Lamar Consolidated bested Dan Burk's team. Scott Nohavitza also contributed to the rushing game with 103 yards on the ground.
The Wildcats' Austin and Judkins have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Austin has thrown for 1127 yards this season, while Judkins, a 6-foot-3 receiver, has 21 catches for 428 yards. Leonard from the Mustangs leads the league in rushing with 1048 yards.
Two of the top units in 4A Region III District 23 will face off this week when Angleton takes on the Falcon. The Wildcats' offense has scored 307 points this season, good for No. 1 in the league, while Foster has allowed only 125 on the year.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Angleton takes on Mark Wiatrek's team. The Wildcats are currently in third, while the Falcon are in second.
The top two defenses in the league will face off this season when Angleton takes on Foster. The Wildcats have allowed 146 points this season, while the Falcon have given up 125. Angleton allowed 7 points last week as it topped the Black Cats.
Foster extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Terry, 37-26. The victory was the fourth in a row for the team.
