Chase Owens made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 12 batters over 6.2 innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off five hits. He is becoming a predictor of Pendleton County's success: when he posts at least ten strikeouts the team is 2-1 (and 9-13 when he doesn't). Owens was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Travis Owens, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and two doubles. Pendleton County is 7-1 when Owens posts two or more runs, but 4-13 otherwise. Cashton Kisamore was another key player, going 3-for-4 with two RBI.

Musselman came out on top against Moorefield on Wednesday thanks in part to the team's impressive four-run sixth inning. The Applemen walked away with a 7-2 victory over the Yellow Jackets. The win continues a trend for the Applemen in their matchups with the Yellow Jackets: they've now won nine in a row.
Cam Bragg looked comfortable as he pitched 1.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits.
At the plate, Wyatt Zimmerman was incredible, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one triple. The team also got some help courtesy of Kamdyn Woolum, who went 2-for-4 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run.
Pendleton County's victory bumped their record up to 11-14. As for Musselman, their win bumped their record up to 11-20.
Musselman's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Pendleton County has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .438. It's a different story for Musselman, though, as they've only averaged .351. Will they be able to contain Pendleton County's hitters?
