The Monroe Hornets will head out on the road to challenge the Turpin Spartans at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Turpin took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Monroe, who comes in off a win.
Last Saturday, Monroe didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Preble Shawnee, but they still walked away with a 31-27 win.
Meanwhile, Turpin's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their third straight defeat. They took a 53-48 hit to the loss column at the hands of Seton. That's two games in a row now that Turpin has lost by exactly five points.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Sophia Schiano, who almost dropped a double-double on ten points and nine rebounds. Another player making a difference was Josie Carrelli, who scored 15 points along with five rebounds.
The win got Monroe back to even at 11-11. As for Turpin, their defeat was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 7-15.
