No. 16
Santa Margarita (Rancho Santa Margarita) head coach Carson Palmer added another signature win by taking down No. 6
Mater Dei (Santa Ana) 7-6 in Southern California on Friday.
Down 6-0 with five minutes left in the fourth quarter, USC commit
Trent Mosley took a wildcat snap and ran the ball in for a Santa Margarita touchdown to take a 7-6 lead.
Mater Dei quickly drove the ball near field. But on four straight plays the Monarchs were stifled by the Eagles defense and turned the ball over on downs.
Santa Margarita was able to run out the clock and end an 11-game losing streak to the Monarchs.
The Eagles are now 5-2 in Palmer’s first year as head coach. It’s the second signature win of the year for Santa Margarita, which also beat No. 5
Centennial (Corona) in August.
In Georgia,
Dayton Raiola was on fire as No. 9

Brother Martin (New Orleans, La.) on Thursday.
Senior quarterback

The Edna Karr defense didn’t allow the Crusaders to get anything going on offense. In the second quarter linebacker
Kevin Martin Jr. scooped up a fumble and returned it for a touchdown.
No. 14
