The Oak Grove Grizzlies lost against the Central Davidson Spartans back in February of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Oak Grove took a 59-45 bruising from Central Davidson. While losing is never fun, Oak Grove can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 245th, while Central Davidson is ranked 61st).
Several Grizzlies players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was JB Shabazz, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 13 rebounds. Shabazz is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down eight or more in the last ten games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Tristan Nunez, who scored seven points along with three steals.
Oak Grove has not been sharp recently, as they've lost five of their last six matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-9 record this season. As for Central Davidson, they pushed their record up to 16-1 with that win, which was their 13th straight at home.
Oak Grove will take on Montgomery Central at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Montgomery Central is coming into the game on a five-game losing streak. As for Central Davidson, they will head out on the road to square off against North Davidson at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. North Davidson has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 426 points over their last six games.
