Montwood and Eastwood are an even 5-5 against one another since March of 2021, but likely not for long. The Rams will head out to take on the Troopers at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Montwood had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 14-run drubbing they dealt Coronado on Friday. The Rams put the hurt on the Thunderbirds with a sharp 15-1 win. The victory was familiar territory for the Rams, who have now won four matchups in a row.

Nevaeh Heredia was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with eight RBI and three doubles. Those eight RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Soph Sandoval, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3.
Heredia wasn't the only one making solid contact: Montwood kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Coronado only managed two hits.
Meanwhile, while Eastwood put up plenty of runs on Saturday, the same can't be said for Coronado. The Troopers were the clear victors by a 17-0 margin over the Thunderbirds. The win was nothing new for the Troopers as they're now sitting on four straight.
Emma Jauregui made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Jauregui was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.
In other batting news, Eastwood got a massive performance out of Joselyn Echavarria, who scored two runs while going 2-for-2. Deja Churchill was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.
Montwood pushed their record up to 25-7 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.7 runs on average over those games. As for Eastwood, their record is now 28-4-1.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Tuesday. Montwood hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.5 home runs per game. However, it's not like Eastwood struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 0.8 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
Montwood beat Eastwood 8-3 in their previous matchup two weeks ago. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Rams since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
