Lyman is 1-9 against Lake Howell since March of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. Lyman will host Lake Howell at 6:00 p.m.
Lyman fought the good fight in their extra-innings match against The First Academy on Monday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Royals by a score of 10-9. The Greyhounds have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Emma Chauncey spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and six unearned) runs on ten hits. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 12 consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Brooke Proulx stepped up to lead a balanced group of hitters: she scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-2. What's more, she posted two RBI, the most she's had since back in February. Another player making a difference was Ava Campanale, who scored two runs and stole two bases while getting on base in two of her five plate appearances.
Meanwhile, Lake Howell entered their tilt with Harmony on Thursday with three consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with four. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 4-3 W against the Longhorns. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Silverhawks have posted since April 24, 2024.
Skaii Rodriguez was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing three bases while going 3-for-3. Gianna Terito was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one home run.
Lake Howell pushed their record up to 10-4 with the win, which was their third straight at home. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Lyman, their loss dropped their record down to 4-10.
Lyman suffered a grim 13-2 defeat to Lake Howell in their previous matchup back in March of 2024. Will Lyman have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the match for a full breakdown of the game, commentary, and other softball content.
