The Hanover Hawks put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They blew past Gloucester 42-16. Considering Hanover has won six contests by more than 21 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
When it comes to explaining why Gloucester lost, one person who can't be blamed is John Gucciardi. Despite the final result, he rushed for 140 yards and a touchdown while picking up 8.2 yards per carry, and also threw for 45 yards and a touchdown while completing 71.4% of his passes.
Hanover's victory was their ninth straight at home (dating back to last season), bumping their overall record up to 9-0. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 37.0 points per game. As for Gloucester, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-4.
Hanover will take on Bishop Stang at TBD on Friday. Bishop Stang will be hoping to continue their three-game streak of scoring more points each game than the last. As for Gloucester, they will head out on the road to face off against Revere at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
