The First Academy Eagles will head out to challenge the Wildwood Wildcats at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. First Academy is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 11.9 runs per game this season.
First Academy made up a huge gap compared to their last game against All Saints' Academy, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Eagles blew past the Saints 24-7 on Friday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Eagles.

Madi Myers was a standout: she went 2-for-4 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high. Jubilee Brinkley also deserves some recognition as she got her first hit of the season.
First Academy was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .750. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .360 or higher in four consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Wildwood was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They lost 28-12 to Cedar Key.
Bhyron Graham and Alex Barron stepped up to the plate in a big way. Graham went a perfect 1-for-1 with two stolen bases, one triple, and one run, while Barron scored three runs and stole two bases while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances. Barron has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last five times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Sophia Stephens, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.
The win got First Academy back to even at 7-7. As for Wildwood, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-13.
Wildwood's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Monday. First Academy has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 6.7 strikeouts per game. It's a different story for Wildwood, though, as they've been averaging only 2.5 strikeouts. Will First Academy keep running through batters, or will the Wildcats buck the trend?
Everything went First Academy's way against Wildwood in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, as First Academy made off with a 17-2 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Eagles since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
