2A Northwest recap October 22, 2013
Portland Christian added to the longest winning streak in 2A Northwest this week by beating Knappa, 33-6. The victory was the eighth in a row for the Royals.
Portland Christian took down the Loggers 33-6 last week, the largest margin of any game. Steven Mumford threw for 293 yards and 2 touchdowns during the win.
Cal Szueber's team's offense was unstoppable this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. On the ground Jesse Delucia contributed 64 yards. David Guild helped Portland Christian's passing attack out by catching 4 balls for 90 yards.
He went 17-25 with 1 interception.
Mumford put up the best numbers in passing as the Royals topped Knappa. Mumford's favorite target this week was Delucia, who caught 7 passes for 111 yards.
Portland Christian's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Royals feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Mumford has thrown for 1,425 yards and 16 touchdowns this season, while Nathan Mumford has 22 catches for 493 yards.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Aaron Thorton's team takes on Gaston. The Loggers are currently in second, while the Greyhounds are in fourth.
