The Northern Nash Knights waltzed into their matchup on Tuesday with five straight wins but they left with six. They walked away with a 71-58 victory over Bunn. Given Northern Nash's advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 156th, while the Wildcats are ranked 404th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Randall King continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 22 points and 11 rebounds. He is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in the last seven games he's played. Elijay Pitt was another key contributor, scoring ten points.
Despite the defeat, Bunn saw an underclassman step up: Kheon Bradberry scored 20 points along with two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Bradberry has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Domantea Cooke, who scored 15 points along with three steals.
Bunn struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only two offensive rebounds. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Northern Nash pulled down 13 offensive rebounds.
Northern Nash has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a massive bump to their 12-7 record this season. As for Bunn, they dropped their record down to 9-10 with that loss, which was their fourth straight on the road.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Northern Nash will face off against the Yellowjackets at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Roanoke Rapids will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak. Bunn is on the road again on Friday and plays the Rams at 7:30 p.m. on February 2nd.
