Basketball Recap: Oceanside Piles Up the Points Against Morse

There's no place like home for Oceanside, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Monday. They blew past the Morse Shipbuilders 66-33 on Friday. The Mariners have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven matches by 22 points or more this season.

Aubrianna Hoose continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 24 points and ten rebounds. That makes it four consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Oceanside's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Grace Mackie, who went 5 of 10 en route to 14 points.

Oceanside smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in nine consecutive contests.

Oceanside pushed their record up to 11-3 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 26.4 points. As for Morse, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 7-10.

Oceanside will venture away from home to square off against Mt. Ararat at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Mt. Ararat will roll in looking for their eighth straight win, something Oceanside surely won't give up without a fight. Morse has already played their next game (against Maine Central Institute), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
