The First Colonial Patriots lost against the Deep Creek Hornets back in January of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. First Colonial was outmatched by Deep Creek on the road and fell 89-34. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for First Colonial in their matchups with Deep Creek: they've now lost three in a row.
Asia Keels continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Deep Creek, scoring 18 points along with eight steals. Keels has been hot recently, having posted four or more steals the last six times she's played. Another player making a difference was Kimora Hinton, who scored 14 points along with five steals.
First Colonial's defeat dropped their record down to 6-12. As for Deep Creek, the win (which was their 11th in a row) raised their record to 16-1.
First Colonial will head out on the road to challenge Salem at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Salem will roll in looking for their eighth straight victory, something First Colonial surely won't give up without a fight. As for Deep Creek, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Great Bridge at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The timing is sure in Deep Creek's favor as the squad sits on eight straight wins at home (dating back to last season) while Great Bridge has been banged up by five consecutive losses on the road.
