Elizabethtown will face off against a team with plenty of momentum: Conestoga Valley extended their winning streak to seven on Friday. The Buckskins simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Governor Mifflin 51-21. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Buckskins' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania football rankings (they are ranked 32nd, while the Mustangs are ranked 179th).

Conestoga Valley got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Sawyer Esbenshade out in front who threw for 319 yards and four touchdowns while completing 82.6% of his passes. That's the most passing touchdowns Esbenshade has posted since back in October of 2024. Conestoga Valley's leading receiver Josiah Garcia was Esbenshade's top target yet again, picking up 55 receiving yards and one TD, while also punching in a pair of scores on the ground.
On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Conestoga Valley's defense and their four sacks. The heavy lifting was done by Parker Book and Sam Matonti, who racked up all four sacks between them.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Elizabethtown, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They blew past Lebanon 42-7 on Friday. The Bears have beaten the Cedars the last five times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Cedars has come to flipping the script.
Elizabethtown found their leader in sophomore Prince Wratto, who rushed for 78 yards and three touchdowns. Wratto has been hot recently, having posted two or more rushing touchdowns the last three times he's played.
Conestoga Valley's win bumped their record up to 7-0. As for Elizabethtown, their victory was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 4-3.
Friday's matchup might be decided on the ground. Conestoga Valley has been excellent on the ground this season, having averaged 151.4 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Elizabethtown struggles in that department as they've been averaging 191 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's game turns into a tough fight on the ground.
Everything came up roses for Conestoga Valley against Elizabethtown in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, as the team secured a 42-0 win. Do the Buckskins have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Bears turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
