Baseball Recap: Olive Takes a Loss

After flying high against Carney two weeks ago, Olive came back down to earth. Olive lost 11-3 to the Drumright Tornadoes on Thursday. The defeat continues a trend for the Wildcats in their meetings with the Tornadoes: they've now lost eight in a row.

Dustyn Bruce was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played. Kellson Peveler also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Olive now has a losing record of 6-7. As for Drumright, with the victory, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 3-7.

Coming up, a feisty cat fight will be fought as Olive Wildcats take on Shidler Tigers at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Drumright, they will face off against Meeker at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Meeker will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Drumright surely won't give up without a fight.
