Softball Recap: Pittsburg Beats Lin-Wood for Their Tenth Straight Win

Pittsburg waltzed into their contest on Wednesday with nine straight wins... but they left with ten. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Lin-Wood Lumberjacks a 13-0 shutout. Considering the Panthers have won 11 games by more than five runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Pittsburg pushed their record up to 15-2 with the victory, which was their seventh straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.4 runs on average over those games. As for Lin-Wood, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-9.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Pittsburg will square off against Colebrook Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Lin-Wood, they will face off against Lisbon at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Panthers have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 11.83 runs per game on average), something the Lumberjacks will no doubt try to take advantage of.
