Hamilton Southeastern has gone 6-1 against Lawrence North recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. Not much got past Grace Swedarsky, who gave up just four hits and racked up nine Ks to keep Avon off the board. Swedarsky has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season.
At the plate, Addison Richmond was excellent, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with one run and one RBI. Sophia Feher also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen bases of the season.
Hamilton Southeastern hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Avon struck out nine times.
Meanwhile, Lawrence North was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They lost 19-7 to Fishers.
Lawrence North saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Sydney Moss, who went 1-for-2 with one home run and three RBI. Victoria Guyse was another, going 1-for-2 with two runs.
Lawrence North's loss dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Hamilton Southeastern, their win bumped their record up to 7-4.
Lawrence North's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Thursday. Hamilton Southeastern has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 10.6 strikeouts per game. It's a different story for Lawrence North, though, as they've been averaging only 4.1 strikeouts. Will Hamilton Southeastern keep running through batters, or will the Wildcats buck the trend?
