After flying high against the Frankfort Hot Dogs last Wednesday, the Logansport Berries came back down to earth. Logansport had to suffer through a rough 69-29 loss at the hands of the Indians. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Logansport in their matchups with the Indians: they've now lost four in a row.
When it comes to explaining why Logansport lost on Saturday, one person who can't be blamed is Lydia Goad. Despite the final result, she scored 13 points. That was a full 44.8% of Logansport's points, marking the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Taliyah McCray, who scored two points along with five rebounds.
Logansport struggled to work together and finished the game with only two assists. They are winless (0-3) when they just don't pass the ball.
Twin Lakes' win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Addie Bowsman, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 12 rebounds. Bowsman has been hot recently, having posted 18 or more points the last three times she's played. Olivia Nickerson was another key contributor, scoring 20 points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Logansport has been struggling recently as they've lost ten of their last 12 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-18 record this season. As for Twin Lakes, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 14-9.
Logansport will head out on the road to square off against the Wildkats at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Kokomo presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Berries in Indiana (the Wildkats are ranked 155th, while the Berries are ranked 349th). As for Twin Lakes, they will face off against the Panthers at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Western is no doubt hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses.
