Thunder Ridge is 0-5 against Highland since September of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Thunder Ridge Titans will be playing in front of their home fans against the Highland Rams at 7:00 p.m. Thunder Ridge will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Idaho Rankings (they are ranked 44th, while Highland is ranked sixth).
Thunder Ridge fell victim to Rigby's stalwart defense on Friday and couldn't make it onto the board. They were dealt a 36-0 defeat at the hands of the Trojans. Having soared to a lofty 39 points in the game before, Thunder Ridge couldn't push the score so high this time.
Meanwhile, Highland had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 23.5 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They walked away with a 38-28 win over Madison.
Jackson Riddle continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 160 yards and a touchdown while picking up 8.4 yards per carry, and also picking up 106 receiving yards and a touchdown. Riddle's longest reception was for an incredible 89 yards. Drew Hymas was another key contributor, throwing for 174 yards and two touchdowns on only 15 passes.
Thunder Ridge has traveled a rocky road this season, as they've lost seven of their first eight games, which leaves them at a 1-7 record this season. Highland has been no stranger to the win column this season, as they've started out with wins in seven of their first eight matchups, giving them a 7-1 record.
Things could have been worse for Thunder Ridge, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 44-26 loss to Highland in their previous matchup back in October of 2022. Will Thunder Ridge have more luck at home instead of on the road?
