The Elm Creek Buffaloes waltzed into their match on Friday with eight straight wins but they left with nine. They secured a 61-55 W over Overton. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Nikk Brumels had an outrageously good game as he scored 23 points along with five rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Quin Oberg, who scored eight points along with ten rebounds and two steals.
Overton lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Brock McCarter, who scored 20 points along with eight rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Alex Banzhaf, who scored 11 points along with eight assists and five rebounds.
Elm Creek has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 11 of their last 12 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 13-4 record this season. As for Overton, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-9.
