The Crete Cardinals will take on the Adams Central Patriots at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Tuesday, Crete didn't have too much trouble with Aurora on the road as they won 51-33.
The match pitted two dominant players against one another in Marin Rasgorshek and Denae Nachtigal. Rasgorshek had a great game and scored 18 points along with six rebounds. Meanwhile, Nachtigal was balling out in the loss, scoring 18 points along with seven rebounds and three steals.
Meanwhile, Adams Central put the finishing touches on their seventh blowout victory of the season on Tuesday. They put the hurt on Lexington with a sharp 49-25 victory. Given Adams Central's advantage in MaxPreps' Nebraska basketball rankings (they are ranked 26th, while Lexington is ranked 238th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Crete's victory bumped their record up to 9-6. As for Adams Central, their win bumped their record up to 12-3.
Crete was taken down by Adams Central 61-28 in their previous matchup back in January of 2022. Can Crete avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
