Mt. Pleasant's 36-1 record from last season is now well into the rear view mirror after another tough outing. They fell to Marshall 65-59. That's two games in a row now that Mt. Pleasant has lost by exactly six points.
Tyler has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six contests by 20 points or more this season. Everything went their way against Longview on Tuesday as Tyler made off with a 56-36 victory. The win was all the more spectacular given Tyler's disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 341st, while Longview is ranked 162nd).
Mt. Pleasant bumped their record down to 3-11 with that loss, which was their fifth straight on the road. As for Tyler, they now have a winning record of 10-9.
Mt. Pleasant didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Tyler in their previous meeting back in January, but they still walked away with a 40-34 win. Will Mt. Pleasant repeat their success, or does Tyler have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
