The Northridge Vikings scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Saturday. They came out on top against Elgin by a score of 57-50. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Northridge also won the last time the pair played back in December of 2022.
Northridge's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Ava Travis, who scored 19 points along with three blocks. That makes it 12 consecutive games in which Travis has scored at least 25% of Northridge's points. Another player making a difference was Ruby Cermak, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 13 rebounds.
Several Comets players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jordan Wall, who scored 13 points along with nine rebounds and six assists. Samantha Girton was another key contributor, scoring ten points.
Northridge's victory bumped their record up to 5-7. As for Elgin, their loss dropped their record down to 7-3.
Northridge will head out on the road to face off against Heath at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. As for Elgin, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Ridgemont at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Ridgemont is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'.
