Wilbraham & Monson Academy was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from eighth to sixth in Colonial. The Titans beat Westminster 41-20 earlier in the week.
Suffield Academy suffered a letdown when it was bounced from the state Top 25 this week after beating Pomfret School. The Tigers had been ranked 10th, but fell to 34.
Williston Northampton's dynamic duo of Gabriel Archambault and Max Risch proved tough for Cheshire Academy to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Archambault threw for 175 yards and two touchdowns and Risch had 78 yards receiving. DonQuale Williams helped Williston Northampton's passing attack out by catching two balls for 54 yards.
Cory Bell was the most productive running back in the league this week. In 22 carries, he ran for 198 yards as Canterbury lost to the Cats. Donavon Jackson also contributed to the rushing game with 16 yards on the ground.
Williston Northampton's Archambault and Williams have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Archambault has thrown for 465 yards this season, while Williams, a 6-foot-1 receiver, has 10 catches for 268 yards. Suffield Academy's Brice McAllister leads the league in rushing yards with 741.
The top two teams in Colonial will face off this week when first place Suffield Academy takes on second place Cheshire Academy. Last week, Andrew Gamere's team defeated the Griffins, while Cheshire Academy bested Mark Conroy's team.
The top two defenses in the league will face off this season when the Tigers take on David Dykman's team. Suffield Academy has allowed 27 points this season, while the Cats have given up 78. The Tigers allowed 0 points last week as they bested Pomfret School.
Suffield Academy extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Henry Large's team, 28-0. The victory was the fourth in a row for the Tigers.
