Haven is 9-1 against Hesston since May of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Wildcats will head out to square off against the Swathers at 4:00 p.m. Haven will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each match than the last.
Haven is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. Everything went their way against Russell on Monday as they made off with a 21-0 victory. The Wildcats might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 15 contests by eight runs or more this season.

Avery Brawner made a splash while hitting and pitching. She tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in ten consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 4-for-4 with four runs, three RBI, and two doubles. That's the most doubles she has posted since back in April.
In other batting news, Haven got a massive performance out of Morgan O'Neal, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with four RBI and two runs. Those four hits gave O'Neal a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Mayzie Warden, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, two doubles, and two RBI.
Haven always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .714. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in three consecutive games.
Meanwhile, after a string of four wins, Hesston's good fortune finally ran out two weeks ago. They fell just short of Abilene by a score of 5-4.
Elyse Griffin made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. Wendy Roth was another key player, getting on base in two of her four plate appearances with two runs.
Haven's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 17-4. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 16.5 runs over those games. As for Hesston, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-7.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Friday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Haven has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.9 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Hesston struggles in that department as they've been averaging 6.8 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Haven beat Hesston 6-1 in their previous meeting back in May of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Wildcats since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
