Glades Day had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the ten-run drubbing they dealt Lake Worth Christian on Thursday. The Gators were the clear victors by a 13-3 margin over the Defenders. The Gators might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six games by six runs or more this season.

Kyler Burch made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching five innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off five hits. Burch was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 1-for-2. Glades Day is undefeated when Burch posts two or more runs, but 3-10 otherwise.

In other batting news, Isaac Perez was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-2. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Dominick Villanueva, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-3.

Glades Day was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .417. They are a perfect 6-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Glades Day is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-10 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.2 runs over those games. As for Lake Worth Christian, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last eight contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-9 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Glades Day will host Moore Haven at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Terriers have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 8.81 runs per game on average), something the Gators will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Lake Worth Christian, they will welcome Somerset Academy - Canyons at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Defenders' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Cougars have averaged an impressive 8.9 runs per game this season.
