The Boone Central Cardinals had already proven themselves in the regular season, and didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They blew past Auburn, posting a 56-7 win on the road. The victory was just business as usual for Boone Central, who after 11 games remain undefeated this season.
Boone Central was led to victory by JAMES FOGLEMAN and PARKER BORER. FOGLEMAN rushed for 134 yards and two touchdowns on only nine carries, while BORER rushed for 174 yards and three touchdowns on only 12 carries. BORER has been hot recently, having posted 100 or more rushing yards the last eight times he's played. BROGAN BENES got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.
The team's defense also helped out by holding Auburn to a paltry 84 yards. A big part of that defensive dominance came down to Boone Central's ability to keep the quarterback under pressure: the team laid him out three times before it was all said and done. Leading the way was THOMAS ROBERTS and his two sacks.
Boone Central's victory bumped their record up to 11-0. As for Auburn, their loss dropped their record down to 8-3.
Boone Central will face off against Ashland-Greenwood at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Ashland-Greenwood is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune. Auburn does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
