The Metrolina Christian Academy Warriors suffered their biggest defeat yet this season on Friday. They took a serious blow against Northside Christian Academy, falling 76-12. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Metrolina Christian Academy has scored all season.
Jenna Carlson and Ella Lederer certainly did their best on Friday to try and avoid the loss. Carlson scored six points along with 13 rebounds and three steals, while Lederer scored two points along with six rebounds.
Northside Christian Academy's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was JaKaila Gaskin, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 11 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Courtney Ashford, who scored 17 points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Metrolina Christian Academy has not been sharp recently, as they've lost five of their last six matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-9 record this season. As for Northside Christian Academy, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 14-8.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Metrolina Christian Academy will face off against Corvian Community at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Corvian Community will be looking to keep their three-game home win streak alive. As for Northside Christian Academy, they will head out on the road to face off against Concord Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Concord Academy is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
