Noah Crump and Jake Milhorn dominated on the mound. Crump tossed five innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits, while Milhorn tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. What's more, Crump gave up only one walk, the fewest he's had since March 6th.
On the hitting side, Buford's win was truly a team effort as seven different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Easton Rollings, who scored a run while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Gavin Love was another, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.
Meanwhile, North Central is still winless after their contest against Central last Friday, but the team can take solace in the fact it was the closest they've come to winning. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-0 heartbreaker at the hands of the Eagles. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Knights have suffered since April 30, 2024.
Buford's victory bumped their record up to 10-3. As for North Central, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-9.
North Central's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Buford has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .434. It's a different story for North Central, though, as they've only averaged .336. Will they be able to contain Buford's hitters?
