The Community Baptist Conqueror's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their sixth straight loss. They had to suffer through a rough 78-14 loss at the hands of Shining Light Academy. Community Baptist has struggled against Shining Light Academy recently, as their matchup on Friday was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.
Shining Light Academy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Alik Lewis led the charge by scoring 25 points. Lewis is absolutely dominating the point category: he's posted at least 15 every time he's taken the court this season. Jayden Adams was another key contributor, scoring 15 points along with four steals.
Community Baptist bumped their record down to 2-13 with that loss, which was their eighth straight on the road. As for Shining Light Academy, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 11-2 record this season.
Community Baptist will head out on the road to take on Oak Ridge Military Academy at 6:15 p.m. on Monday. Oak Ridge Military Academy knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past 11 games -- so hopefully Community Baptist likes a good challenge. Shining Light Academy won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Atkins at 3:00 p.m. on January 20th. Atkins will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps North Carolina Rankings (they are ranked 407th, while Shining Light Academy is ranked 170th).
