The Floresville Tigers will be home for the holidays to greet the Pearsall Mavericks at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Floresville is coming into the game hot, having won their last four games.
Floresville has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven games by 25 points or more this season. They breezed by Somerset on the road to the tune of 57-23. Given Floresville's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 438th, while Somerset is ranked 1149th), the result on Friday wasn't entirely unexpected.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Floresville to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kenzie Huron, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 11 rebounds. Those 11 rebounds set a new season-high mark for her. Another player making a difference was Jordin Johns, who scored 12 points along with seven steals.
Meanwhile, Pearsall was the victim of a rough 66-43 loss at the hands of Crystal City on Tuesday.
Floresville's victory bumped their record up to 12-8. As for Pearsall, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost five of their last six contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-11 record this season.
Floresville took their win against Pearsall in their previous meeting back in January by a conclusive 61-37. Does Floresville have another victory up their sleeve, or will Pearsall turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
