They took their contest at home with ease, bagging a 62-34 win over Mount View. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win River View has posted yet this season.
River View's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jackson Danielson, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 15 rebounds. Ethan Justice was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with 11 rebounds and four blocks.
Mount View lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Jawuan Jackson, who scored five points along with eight rebounds and four steals. Jackson hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Zymir Martin, who scored 15 points.
River View's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-1. As for Mount View, they now have a losing record at 2-3.
River View will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Hurley at 7:30 p.m. on January 24th. Hurley will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in their respective state's rankings (they are ranked 430th in Virginia, while River View is ranked 59th in West Virginia). Mount View will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on River View at 7:00 p.m. on January 25th.
