The Lowell Catholic Crusaders will be playing in front of their home fans against the Whittier RVT Wildcats at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Lowell Catholic has five straight victories, Whittier RVT has three straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Last Friday, Lowell Catholic got the win against Collegiate Charter School of Lowell by a conclusive 52-27. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 36-11.
Lowell Catholic can attribute much of their success to Janae Holmes, who scored ten points, and Rylie Hogan, who scored 11 points. Miley Lopez was another key contributor, scoring seven points.
Meanwhile, Whittier RVT couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They fell to Lowell Catholic 51-45. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Whittier RVT in their matchups with Lowell Catholic: they've now lost four in a row.
Lowell Catholic is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matches, which provided a nice bump to their 10-6 record this season. As for Whittier RVT, their loss dropped their record down to 0-1.
Lowell Catholic didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Whittier RVT in their previous meeting on Tuesday, but they still walked away with a 51-45 victory.
