It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact the Canton Tigers can now relate to. They fell to Lafayette 14-10. Canton has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Lafayette was led to victory by Nick Thompson and Makyi Reed jones. Thompson threw for 92 yards and two touchdowns, while Reed jones picked up 80 receiving yards and two touchdowns. Reed jones' longest reception was for an incredible 70 yards.
Canton's loss dropped their record down to 4-7. As for Lafayette, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 7-5.
Canton does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Lafayette will take on Clarksdale at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Clarksdale knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past four matches -- so hopefully Lafayette likes a good challenge.
