Richard Winn Academy's game last Wednesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. Everything went their way against the Wardlaw Academy Patriots as the Richard Winn Academy Eagles made off with a 12-2 victory. The Eagles haven't had any issues with the Patriots recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive win against them.

Charlie Bonds and Bennett Nicholson did most of the damage at the plate: Bonds scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4, while Nicholson went 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Josh Tyndall, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4.

The victory got Richard Winn Academy back to even at 1-1. As for Wardlaw Academy, their loss was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-4.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Richard Winn Academy will head out to face off against King Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Wardlaw Academy, they are taking a road trip to take on Jefferson Davis Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Wardlaw Academy has given up an average of 15.8 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week.
