With a playoff game on the line, the Mandarin Mustangs rose to the challenge on Friday. They breezed by the Knights on the road to the tune of 51-21. The score was close at the half, but Mandarin pulled away in the second half with 42 points.
Tiant Wyche continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 151 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 8.4 yards per carry. Deshard Westcott also helped out as he racked up 140 rushing yards.
Monarch's lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Jabari Brady, who picked up 151 receiving yards and a touchdown. Brady was no stranger to the big play, lighting up the secondary with a catch that went for 60 yards. Samari Reed also helped out as he racked up 115 receiving yards.
Mandarin has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-3 record this season. As for Monarch, their loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 11-3.
Mandarin is on the road again on Friday and play against Columbus at 3:00 p.m. on December 8th. Columbus is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune. Monarch does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
