Given Marion's advantage in MaxPreps' Arkansas football rankings (they are ranked 17th, while Sheridan is ranked 72nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Sylvan Hills' defeat was their seventh straight on the road (dating back to last season), which dropped their overall record down to 0-8. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 12-1 Catholic and 7-1 Benton (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 63% over those games). As for Marion, their victory bumped their record up to 7-1.
Sylvan Hills came up short against Marion in their previous matchup back in October of 2022, falling 27-23. Will Sylvan Hills have more luck at home instead of on the road?
