Baseball Recap: Dysart Sets Scoring Season-High Against Cortez

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Dysart). They never let the Cortez Colts get on the board and left with a 23-0 win on Wednesday. The team's explosion at the plate also rewarded the Demons with their most commanding win of the season.

Aaron Olivas was incredible, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. Stephen Rivera was another key player, going a perfect 1-for-1 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI.

Dysart kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

The victory (which was Dysart's fifth in a row) raised their record to 10-8. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.4 runs over those games. As for Cortez, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost ten of their last 11 games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-19-1 record this season.

Dysart didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 3-2 loss against Greenway on the 28th. As for Cortez, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 16-2 defeat against Glendale on the 28th.
