Last Wednesday, Kirby Prep took a serious blow against Pacific Collegiate, falling 75-22. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Kirby Prep in their matchups with Pacific Collegiate: they've now lost nine in a row.
Despite their loss, Kirby Prep saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Brooke Alden, who scored 11 points, was perhaps the best of all. Another player making a difference was Henry Annon, who scored seven points.
Meanwhile, after only 24 points in their last match, Ceiba College Preparatory Academy made sure to put some points up on the board against York last Thursday. Ceiba College Preparatory Academy blew past York 65-27 at home.
Kirby Prep's loss dropped their record down to 7-10. As for Ceiba College Preparatory Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 3-10.
Kirby Prep was able to grind out a solid win over Ceiba College Preparatory Academy in their previous matchup back in January, winning 49-40. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Ceiba College Preparatory Academy's Anthony Toriz, who scored 29 points along with seven rebounds. Now that he's got a second chance to win this matchup, will Kirby Prep still be able to contain Toriz? There's only one way to find out.
