The Chilton County Tigers''s recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They fell to Pelham 34-28. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Chilton County in their matchups with Pelham: they've now lost five in a row.
When it comes to explaining why Chilton County lost, one person who can't be blamed is Logan Coppedge. Despite the final result, he threw for 303 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 15.2 yards per attempt. Demarcus Riddick was in the mix too, providing Chilton County with two touchdowns.
Kalib Porter was the offensive standout of the game as he rushed for 95 yards and two touchdowns. The team also got some help courtesy of Mike Grayson, who rushed for 80 yards and a touchdown.
Chilton County's defeat dropped their record down to 3-6. As for Pelham, they now have a winning record of 5-4.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Chilton County is on the road again on Friday and play against Marbury at 7:00 p.m. on November 3rd. Marbury is out to stop a four-game streak of losses at home. As for Pelham, they will head out on the road to face off against Spain Park at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Spain Park is coming into the contest hot, having won their last four games.
